Questions on Rane Serato Scratch Live (DJ equipment that connects to the computer)?
Basically, I know what it is, obviously, that put the two CDs on your turntable (Unless u have vinyl) connect it to the table below, then just drag in the booming portable mp3 No computer. couple of questions, however, 1. Can I use programs like Virtual DJ, or just have its own program is only allowed to use and if you can use several programs which one is best? 2. For most DJ programs, the BPM is to read and when you drag a song, it automatically adjusts the BPM, or theres a feature one click to do the DJ programs that are compatible with Serato Scratch Live have this feature? and 3. Stupid question did not expect a strong response, but where is the cheapest I found it? So far I have found about 500 on eBay. Thank you.
Rane Serato reads only its proprietary software and control disks. All the different software DJ – Torq, Virtual DJ, Cue, etc – use different frequencies which can not be read by the control records from another manufacturer / CD or respective hardware. You can, however, burn CD control for other discs. Scratch LIVE version 1.6.3 introduced a tap tempo feature to accompany their level of self-BPM. You can also "adjust" the loops of rhythms – when you create a loop attached Serato automatically start and end at the beginning and nearest end of the play to travel without problems. Nice! Cheapest you'll find a new Serato with manufacturer warranty is $ 539. You may be able sweet talk a dealer at a lower price, but most companies are not interested – Serato sells itself and dealers do not feel the need stirring to seal the deal. You may find on Craigslist for pretty cheap – about $ 300 – but they either will be used or stolen. If you go that route you should invest new vinyl and CDs in control, and be very careful with the software – which can be damaged, has a lot of preferences that do not want, etc. Either be really Careful, or save up a deposit out.
